We’re founded on a triple bottom line of people, planet, and profit. We recognize that socially responsibility, environmentally sustainability, and financially viability are all part of the necessary mix so that we can continue to offer you exceptionally good wines.
Social responsibility. The story we tell is one of empowerment for emerging winemakers. But it is so much more. Our partner wineries abroad uphold labor practices of paying livable – not minimum – wages, among other criteria. In South Africa, they are Wine Industry Ethical Trade Association (WIETA) certified. In many cases they support their employees through joint-company ownership.
Environmental sustainability. In the same vein, our wineries and vineyards are environmentally responsible. Our partners comply with international wine industry environmental sustainability standards. We are also partnering with pioneers in the organic and biodynamic industry, and to the highest extent possible are supporting conversion to organic vineyard practices.
Financial viability. As a for-profit company, we uphold standards of efficiency, practicality, and longevity. Importantly, we profit-share with our emerging winemakers abroad. This is both the right thing to do and it ensures long-term success by incentivizing our partners to continue to provide high-quality wine.
